Is My Data Safe With SignalTo?

SignalTo reads your public website to do its work, handles that information with care, and gives you clear controls over your data at every step.

Last updated June 29, 2026

A fair question, and one worth answering plainly before you hand anything over.

What SignalTo reads

SignalTo's starting point is your public website. It scrapes the pages that are already visible to anyone on the internet, including AI crawlers that are visiting your site right now regardless of SignalTo. It uses that content to build a picture of how you are currently represented, and to identify where the gaps and inaccuracies are.

It does not access private customer databases, internal systems, CRMs, or anything sitting behind a login. If your customers' personal information is not on your public website, SignalTo does not see it.

What you provide

At signup, you provide your name, work email, and the URL of your website. If you connect the SignalTo plugin to your CMS, the plugin reads your site's content to keep the information current. At no point does SignalTo ask for or require access to information beyond what is needed to do the job.

Your controls

Inside the console, the Account and Settings screen includes data and privacy controls: data export and deletion are both available to you directly. You are not locked in, and your data is not locked away.

How your data is handled

SignalTo does not sell your data or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. The cross-client learning that helps improve recommendations works from anonymised patterns, not from identifying your business to others.

The full details, including which subprocessors are used and what your rights are under applicable privacy law, are written out in plain language in the privacy policy. For the specifics, that is the right place to look: /legal/privacy/.
